About Mark

Mark Herr is originally from South Carolina and served in the United States Army as an Infantryman and a recruiter for 17 years. In 2018 Mark was struck by a car while riding his motorcycle, resulting in a badly broken leg and his career in the Army coming to a premature end. After the Army Mark entered the civilian world as an entrepreneur, leveraging his skills and experience to lead a fantastic team of employees and provide cleaning services and flooring solutions to the Pierce County community. Today, Mark owns three businesses and is proud to say that his companies are a small part of the story of approximately 30 families. In the twenty-two years since Mark joined the Army, the values ingrained in him as a young Boy Scout and a combat-proven leader have served him well. Although Mark no longer serves our Nation in the Army, his desire to serve our local community is immense.

“The Safety of our communities and the ability of our law enforcement officers to execute their duties has been taken away – we must remove all impediments and give them the ability to enforce the laws of our state again. This includes giving them the tools and resources they need to deal with the ever-increasing issues brought on by homelessness, the fentanyl crisis, and mental health disorders.”

“Housing affordability is the number one issue in our district. We must find solutions other than taxing our community further. We can do this by clearly defining a way for real estate developers to initiate building projects quicker, with less bureaucracy, and by finding programs in the state budget that are underperforming or failing and reallocating those funds to our most pressing issue: making it possible for people to afford to keep a roof over their head by allowing them to keep more of the money they earn.”

“The Cost of living in our state is being driven up by bad policy implementation that transfers wealth from working-class citizens to the State, including parts of the Washington Climate Commitment Act, with its Carbon Tax driving up the cost of fuel and the Washington State Cares Act and its atrocious long term care tax. Increasing the financial drain on our small businesses increases the cost of goods and services, further exacerbating the problem. We must repeal all unnecessary and greedy tax provisions.”

“I promise to bring a common-sense approach, coupled with my years of leadership and business experience to guide the conversation in Olympia and ensure your needs are at the forefront of the decision-making process. Allow me to be your State Representative and let Olympia know that you have had enough. Help me help us.”
